After numerous proposals on LEGO Ideas, the LEGO Group and Nintendo have officially partnered to release 77092 The Legend of Zelda: Great Deku Tree 2-in-1.
This set, 77092 The Legend of Zelda: Great Deku Tree 2-in-1, includes four exclusive minifigures and a variety of new elements to recreate them. The characters feature three versions of Link – one from Breath of the Wild and two from Ocarina of Time – as well as Zelda from Breath of the Wild. Additionally, the set includes brick-built characters such as several smaller Koroks, Deku Babas, Navi the Fairy, the Deku Sprout, and a Skulltula.
The model can be rebuilt into the Deku Tree as depicted in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, complete with Link’s house from the game, though only one version can be displayed at a time.
Play features include a moving expression on the Breath of the Wild build and a dropping Skulltula on the Ocarina of Time model, though the set appears to be designed primarily for display, given its older age range.
“I’m really thrilled that The Legend of Zelda is joining the world of LEGO bricks, which has spurred the creative impulses of so many people of all ages,” shared Eiji Aonuma, Producer of The Legend of Zelda series at Nintendo.
“The Deku Tree was the first element from The Legend of Zelda we wanted to represent using LEGO bricks. This set allows you to build two different versions of the Deku Tree from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild with unique features that are a great fit for the nature of the series. I can’t wait for everyone to get the chance to build this part of The Legend of Zelda world with their own hands.”
“Our fans have been asking for a LEGO set based on The Legend of Zelda series for a while, so we were delighted to work with Nintendo to create the Great Deku Tree in brick form,” commented LEGO designer Wes Talbott. “As a fan of the franchise, it was great to work on this set and fill it with details and references from the games. I’m also glad we managed to offer the choice to build one of two versions to appeal to many Zelda fans. I can’t wait to see the fans’ reaction to this set.”
This debut LEGO The Legend of Zelda set wouldn’t be complete without a new and exclusive element for the Master Sword, which is one of several Zelda-specific elements in 77092 The Legend of Zelda: Great Deku Tree 2-in-1.
